UK Christian Motorist Told to Remove ‘Jesus Loves You’ Message to Keep Car Insurance

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND (Worthy News) – A Christian motorist in Britain is considering legal action after his insurer reportedly told him that his car insurance could not continue unless he removed handmade “Jesus Loves You” messages from his vehicle.

Simeon Chandra, 35, of Birmingham, said he contacted GoSkippy Insurance before placing the messages on his car because he wanted to ensure the stickers would not affect his policy. According to Christian Concern, he was initially told he could proceed if he submitted photographs for the insurer’s records.

However, after receiving the photographs, GoSkippy’s underwriting department reportedly rejected the stickers as a vehicle modification. The insurer subsequently told Chandra that the messages would have to be removed and that he must provide a dated photograph showing they were gone in order for his insurance to continue.

Chandra said the message was neither commercial nor political but was simply intended to tell people that Jesus loves them.

“The message on my car is very simple: ‘Jesus Loves You.’ It is not abusive, political, hateful or commercial. It is a message of hope,” Chandra said.

The Christian Legal Centre is supporting Chandra as he considers possible legal action, arguing that the case raises broader concerns over religious freedom and the right of Christians to express their faith publicly without being denied ordinary services.

The controversy comes amid continuing debate in Britain over the boundaries of Christian expression, freedom of speech, and religious liberty in public life.
