Netanyahu Says Israel, U.S. in “Full Coordination” as Iran Nuclear Talks Intensify

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief

(Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that Israel remains in constant coordination with the United States regarding Iran, emphasizing that there are “no surprises” between Jerusalem and Washington as reports swirl about a possible U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at ending the war before fully dismantling Tehran’s nuclear program.

Speaking at the opening of a Diplomatic-Security Cabinet meeting, Netanyahu revealed that he speaks with U.S. President Donald Trump “almost daily,” adding that senior officials from both governments are also in continuous contact.

“There is full coordination between us,” Netanyahu declared. “We share common goals, and the most important goal is the removal of the enriched material from Iran — all of the enriched material — and the dismantling of Iran’s enrichment capabilities.”

The Israeli leader stressed that while Trump believes a diplomatic solution may still be achievable, Israel is preparing for every possible outcome. “We are prepared for any scenario, and that is also my directive to the IDF and our security agencies,” Netanyahu said. “Israel is stronger than ever, and Iran and its proxies are weaker than ever.”

Netanyahu’s unusually public remarks from a high-level security cabinet meeting appeared aimed at countering speculation that Israel had been caught off guard by emerging negotiations between Washington and Tehran. With Israeli elections approaching in the coming months, political observers say Netanyahu is seeking to reinforce the message that Jerusalem remains fully aligned with the White House even as diplomatic discussions continue.

Meanwhile, nuclear experts are warning that any agreement allowing Iran to retain portions of its enriched uranium stockpile could leave the regime dangerously close to rebuilding its nuclear weapons capability.

David Albright, founder of the Institute for Science and International Security, told Israel’s Channel 12 that the only acceptable outcome would involve removing all 10 tons of Iran’s enriched uranium — not just the highly enriched material.

“If any significant part of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile remains, then that’s a bad deal,” Albright warned. “There’s no doubt about it.”

According to Albright, Iran still possesses roughly 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels at 60% purity, much of it reportedly stored underground near Isfahan. He argued that the removal of the entire stockpile, combined with damage already inflicted on Iran’s centrifuge infrastructure during previous Israeli and American strikes, could delay Tehran’s path to a nuclear weapon for years.

Still, Albright acknowledged that permanently eliminating Iran’s nuclear ambitions may not be realistic. “What you’re trying to do is lengthen the time and reduce the chance of success,” he said. “If the goal is to eliminate a nuclear program so it can never be rebuilt, that’s probably not achievable.”

The current negotiations reportedly being discussed would require Iran to halt uranium enrichment for at least 12 years and surrender its highly enriched uranium, though some reports indicate Tehran may still be allowed to retain lower-enriched material and eventually resume limited enrichment activities.

The ongoing debate comes as the regional balance of power has shifted dramatically following the June 2025 war with Iran and continued military operations against Iranian-backed proxies throughout the Middle East.
