Macron Calls for “New International Order” Including the Reorganization of Europe

by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – France’s President Emmanuel Macron has called for a “new international order” that would replace the current “unjust order” and include the reorganization of Europe and a potentially new approach to Russia, Newsweek reports. Macron made his remarks during a speech at the Sant’Egidio International Meeting for Peace in Paris on September 22.

“We try to walk with this European political community but we will have to think of a new form of organization of Europe and rethink our relationship to Russia,” Macron said in his address to the Peace meeting.

“In the same way as you said we have to build a new international order, is undoubtedly the greatest challenge of the moment because our order today is incomplete and unjust,” he continued.

“We need to think about the world in a new form. It is necessary to take into account the geographical reality of Europe, which is not limited to either the EU or, most definitely, NATO. We need to think about a new form of organization of Europe and rethink relations with Russia in the future, as well as peace on this continent,” the French president added.

Macron said the order created after World War II is “incomplete” because it does not provide for climate change, the technological revolution, or other future world changes, Newsweek said. Macron also stated the new order would work on equal representation for all European nations.
