Israeli Strike Kills Senior IRGC–Hezbollah Officials in Beirut

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief

(Worthy News) – The Israeli military said Sunday that an overnight strike in Beirut killed five senior liaison officials connected to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force and Hezbollah, dealing what it described as a significant blow to coordination between the Iranian regime and its Lebanese proxy.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the targets were located inside the Ramada Hotel in Beirut’s seaside Rawche district. The military said it issued advance warnings to those inside the building before the strike, allowing most civilians to evacuate prior to the attack.

Among those killed were a senior Quds Force–Hezbollah intelligence coordinator, a high-ranking Palestinian intelligence official, and a key terror-financing operative responsible for transferring roughly $770 million from Iran to Hezbollah over the past year, the IDF said. Two additional senior liaison officials involved in coordinating operations between Tehran and Hezbollah were also reportedly killed.

Israeli officials described the targets as critical “operational connectors” responsible for maintaining intelligence sharing, financing, and strategic coordination between Iran and Hezbollah. The IDF said eliminating these figures could have a lasting impact on the alliance’s ability to coordinate activities even after the current conflict subsides.

Emergency responders were seen inspecting the damaged hotel rooms after the strike. Reports indicated that about 10 people were wounded in the attack, though their identities and whether civilians were among them remained unclear.

The strike comes as Israel continues intensified operations against Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut, including the group’s Radwan Forces and positions in the Dahiyeh district, widely considered Hezbollah’s stronghold in the Lebanese capital.
