Four Dead, 70 Injured As Iran-Israel Strikes Enter 2nd Day

TEHRAN/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – At least four people were dead and over 70 injured in Israel early Saturday, with the Jewish nation facing massive Iranian missile strikes, officials said.

Air raid sirens had wailed across most of Israel as Israelis continued the Jewish Shabbat in anticipation of more missile and drone strikes from Iran.

Among those killed was an Israeli woman who had been critically injured by Iranian missiles and succumbed to her wounds early Saturday morning, according to medics.

Numerous calls were received by the 102 emergency hotline in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, also known as Gush Dan, following an Iranian missile attack, Israel’s Fire and Rescue Authority announced.

Firefighting teams were dispatched to two main areas, one in Tel Aviv and one in Ramat Gan, after fires were reported due to the strikes.

Extensive damage was caused in Tel Aviv, Israel’s main economic hub, and there were concerns about people trapped. In Ramat Gan, a city in the Tel Aviv District, there is structural damage as well as people trapped, Israeli media reported.

RUSHING TO SCENE

Footage also emerged of Fire and Rescue services working to free two people believed to be trapped under rubble after an Iranian strike.

The site was not immediately named due to military censorship rules in place during operations.

There were reports that a two-month-old baby may be trapped under the rubble. Some 14 people were reportedly wounded in the impact, one of whom was in critical condition.

At a separate crash site, Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s leading emergency service, confirmed that they were treating 13 wounded people.

One 30-year-old man is in critical condition, a 45-year-old man is in serious condition, and a 50-year-old woman is in moderate to severe condition.” The remaining 10 people were “in mild to moderate condition,” MDA added.

MDA said its teams continued to work at the scene to ensure no other casualties. Earlier, residents of the central region heard loud explosions overnight, Israeli media said, but it was not immediately clear if there were casualties.

NORTH LEAVING SHELTERS?

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had said, however, that “civilians in the North can leave shelters,” but warned they should remain “close to safe places.”

Air raid sirens, also described as “Rocket sirens” by the media, were also heard around the Sea of Galilee, Worthy News learned. The Israel Navy said it had intercepted five projectiles fired from Iran since Friday morning.

Earlier footage obtained by Worthy News showed the Israeli army struggling to destroy the massive missile barrage from Iran approaching areas such as Tel Aviv, where the military headquarters were hit.

It underscored that despite Israel’s massive defense systems, backed by the United States, Iran was still able to strike Israel.

Tehran launched waves of more than 150 missiles in what it called “Operation Severe Punishment,” following Israel’s successful strikes against Iran’s nuclear and military facilities and the killing of numerous key leaders and nuclear scientists.

Israel says its “Operation Rising Lion” is aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, despite Tehran claiming its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
