(Worthy News) – The Trump administration is introducing a new mobile app through the Department of Homeland Security to facilitate the self-deportation of illegal immigrants, replacing the controversial CBP One app.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is replacing the CBP Home app, featuring a self-deportation tool for unauthorized migrants. This initiative, a pivot from the Biden administration’s approach of using smartphone technology to facilitate entry for over a million migrants, now leverages the same technology to encourage their departure under the Trump administration.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated, “The Biden Administration exploited the CBP One App to allow more than 1 million aliens to illegally enter the United States. With the launching of the CBP Home App, we are restoring integrity to our immigration system.”
“The CBP Home App gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return,” Noem stated.
The app enables aliens to “Submit Intent to Depart” and provide details confirming their plans to exit the U.S. Additionally, it allows them to verify their departure, a feature available only to those paroled into the U.S. Officials highlight that the app is a strategic tool aimed at encouraging illegal immigrants to self-deport.
Officials noted that the approach is cost-effective for the government, enhances safety for both officers and migrants, and provides migrants with a legal pathway to return legally.
