Retired U.S. Air Force Col. John Venable told the Journal that if an ally wanted to engage Iran, the moment was favorable because the threat environment had been reduced. The UAE’s air force, equipped with French Mirage fighters, advanced F-16s, refueling aircraft, and surveillance drones, is widely regarded as one of the region’s most capable precision-strike forces.
The reported Emirati strike underscores a deeper regional reality: Iran’s long campaign of intimidation may be producing the opposite of what Tehran intended.
