Trump Administration Pushes 21-Point Gaza Peace Plan Amid Intense Negotiations

by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Washington D.C. Bureau Chief

(Worthy News) – The Trump administration has unveiled a sweeping 21-point plan aimed at ending the Gaza war and securing the release of the remaining Israeli hostages, according to multiple reports.

The proposal, presented to Arab leaders on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York this week, calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all 48 hostages within 48 hours of an agreement, and the exchange of up to 200 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences. In return, Hamas would be required to disarm under Arab and international supervision.

President Donald Trump told reporters Friday that Washington is “very close” to a deal, calling it “a peace plan that will get the hostages back and end the war.” He emphasized that “all of the countries in the region” are engaged in negotiations, with Israel fully briefed at every level.

Key features of the plan include a phased Israeli military withdrawal, a temporary Arab-led authority to govern Gaza before transferring control to a “reformed” Palestinian Authority, and a five-year international reconstruction program. The United Nations would oversee humanitarian aid, while an international stabilization force would secure the territory and train a new Palestinian police force.

The plan also offers amnesty and exile to Hamas leaders who agree to disarm, while ruling out Hamas’ participation in any future governance. It explicitly rejects forced displacement, encourages Palestinians to remain in Gaza, and outlines a pathway to a potential Palestinian state, though without formal recognition of statehood.

Reports suggest former British Prime Minister Tony Blair may be tapped to lead an interim international administration overseeing Gaza’s recovery and governance.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Friday, reiterated his opposition to a Palestinian state, warning that establishing one near Jerusalem would be “sheer madness.” Still, Netanyahu is expected to discuss the Trump plan in detail during his visit to the White House on Monday.

While Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff expressed optimism about a breakthrough, it remains unclear whether Hamas will accept the terms. The group has repeatedly rejected international proposals demanding its disarmament.

An Israeli official told reporters that “this is crunch time” for the U.S., with Washington fully mobilized to end the war and bring the hostages home.

Prophetic Implications

This initiative comes in the midst of the Days of Awe—the solemn period between Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets) and Yom Kippur. Many discern prophetic significance in these developments, recalling Joel 3:2, where the Lord warns of judgment on nations that “divide My land.” Viewed through a biblical lens, attempts to alter Israel’s boundaries during this sacred season highlight the profound spiritual weight of current events and the striking convergence of geopolitics with prophecy.
