Iran Fires Missiles At Israel Killing 4 Despite Announced Ceasefire

TEHRAN/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – At least four people were killed when an Iranian missile struck a residential building in the southern city of Beersheva early Tuesday, just hours after an announced ceasefire, emergency medical services said.

Following these and other Iranian strikes, Israel prepared to launch a retaliatory strike on Tehran.

Besides those killed, two people sustained moderate injuries in the attack, while an additional 20 were lightly hurt in the strike on Beersheeva, according to Israel’s leading medical emergency service, Magen David Adom.

Footage reviewed by Worthy News showed rescuers searching the partially collapsed seven-story apartment building for additional victims.

It was part of broader attacks with the Israel Defense Forces saying Iran fired six volleys totaling 12 missiles at the Jewish nation over three hours, beginning at around 5 a.m. local time.

The missile launches came around seven hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire” set to take effect at 7 a.m. local time.

Yet despite sirens wailing in Israel, U.S. President Donald J. Trump said that a ceasefire is now in effect. He announced the need not to violate it via Truth Social early Tuesday morning.

“THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!” he posted.

SIRENS SOUNDING

Trump made the announcement following the sirens sounding as the 6th wave of missiles was anticipated in Israel after midnight Eastern Time.

The attacks from Iran also came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had agreed to a ceasefire with Iran after achieving all war goals.

However, Defense Minister Israel Katz said he had ordered the Israel Defense Forces to strike in Tehran after Iran launched missiles towards Israel’s North when the ceasefire was technically in effect.

“I have instructed the IDF to respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran,” Katz said in a statement.

It underscored the difficulties of ending what Trump has called the “12-Day War” between Israel and Iran.

The latest armed conflict began after Israel struck key nuclear and other sites in attacks aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, as Tehran declared its intention to destroy the Jewish nation.

Since then, hundreds have reportedly been killed in Iran and dozens in Israel.
